COURSES
WELCOME TO OUR LEARNING CIRCLES.
Our course containers are spaces where we embrace and alchemise our diversities within and without, in land and in spirit through our journeying into the wonderful world of soil.
Unbeknownst to us, there is an active world buzzing beneath our feet. This world props up the world as we know it, enabling our ecosystems and food system and contributing to the air we breathe and the environment we live in. Read on to find out more about the full cycle of courses that we offer, and join us to explore the amazing world of soil!
Our courses take on a holistic approach to understanding soil, and we link this knowledge to our local context through our lived experiences working on the ground here in Singapore. All the courses include hands-on learning, multimedia activities, and discussions, so do look forward to getting your hands dirty!

In a world that seems to be pushing for agritech and concrete jungles, what role does soil play and how is it related to us?
Through this program, we invite participants to engage and connect with soil, and understand our relationship to soil and the larger ecosystem.
This hands-on program serves to open up conversations and links soil to our current food systems, climate change, and regeneration.
Our team will also be sharing about our lived experiences from working in farms in Singapore and abroad, as well as in local community gardens with whom we work with through our research partnership with the National Parks Board.

Over the span of these 3 sessions, we will get to have a broader (and possibly mind-blowing) understanding and appreciation of these circular systems and the growing importance of having healthy soil in our world today.

We have been told that Singapore has limited land and that our food future depends on agritech and not soil. What happens if we collectively embrace soil regeneration and adopt practices to heal and nourish our soils? How does this in turn help us take care of ourselves and our communities?
In these 3 sessions, we will explore how we can revitalise Singapore’s soils, food system and communities through our everyday choices and actions. The course includes a visit to a local regenerative farm/garden where we will learn how soil regeneration has taken shape here in Singapore and what opportunities are open to those interested in being a part of this unfolding journey..
Join us as we reimagine Singapore’s soil story and our food futures!

WORDS FROM SOIL FOLKS
“We should no longer discuss environmental crises and systemic changes without unearthing the truths about the health of our soils. Living Soil empowers us with the necessary thought processes and vital information to become more effective climate warriors.”

“The facilitators at Living Soil are absolute naturals at creating a safe and conducive space for learning in such an engaging way! I always leave each lesson with plenty of food for thought. I also feel even more inspired to continue advocating and practising a way of living that encourages mindfulness when it comes to buying or growing produce. Essential learning for everyone to understand that everything is connected!”

“What a warm and welcoming experience it's been! While set at the end of the series, Reimagining Our Soil Story is a perfect beginning, opening our eyes and hearts to the possibility and power of soil right at our doorstep. The course is an excellent primer for those beginning to dip their toes (and fingers!) into regenerative agriculture, and opens up a myriad of conversations about the very earth we walk on.”
